What is an SSRI ?

Serotonin is a brain chemical  which is also called as neurotransmitter. These neurotransmitters (chemical messengers) help in transmitting  information from one neuron to other neuron. By any reason if these neurotransmitters doesn’t function well, that results in mood disorders.

So these SSRIs block the reabsorption (reuptake) of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain, so that messages should be passed effectively.
